Voters in the provincial riding of Simcoe North will be heading to the polls on September 3rd in a by-election that now features a Food & Water First challenge. Ontario Green Party leader, Mike Schreiner, is calling on the Progressive Conservative, Liberal and NDP candidates to show their support for the preservation of this province’s rarest farmland and key water resources by taking the Food & Water First Pledge. (Schreiner is the only provincial party leader to do so.)
The new Progressive Conservative leader, Patrick Brown, is seeking to hold the long-time PC riding. Fred Larsen is running for the Liberals and Elizabeth Van Houtte is representing the New Democrats. Green party candidate, Valerie Powell, has taken the Pledge. Voting in the Simcoe North by-election? Ask the candidates where they stand on protecting farmland and water resources. Then let us know!
