Food & Water First has launched a special summer campaign. We’re giving away our popular lawn signs so your yard looks magnificent while spreading the word about farmland and water protection! Start a conversation by planting one at the farm gate or in the garden. When asked about it you can share some information about Food & Water First:

1) Ontario is losing 350 acres of farmland a day to non-farming development.

2) Since 1976, we’ve lost 2.8 million acres of farmland. That amount of land could feed 2.8 million people for one year!

3) Food & Water First is seeking changes to land-use policies and legislation so that Class 1 farmland — the rarest in Canada — and our source water regions are protected from sprawl, aggregate operations and other non-food producing activities.
