Groundwater: 6th Great Lake

It flows beneath the ground. It’s out of sight. Yet, it’s essential for our wetlands, rivers, lakes and survival. Canada’s groundwater is a source of drinking water for 10 million people, helps grow our food and run our industries. But, according to Environmental Defence, it is largely unmapped and unappreciated. “While 8 percent of Canadians believe oil is our most important resource, it is a fraction of the 53% who believe that water is actually the most important.”  Read more about the so-called “6th Great Lake” here:
