Hard Work in a New Year

After another bountiful growing season, our fields and orchards are resting under the snow. They provided us with healthy local food in 2015 and will do so again in 2016. They deserve a long break until spring.

But through the winter, we must continue the hard work of protecting Ontario’s prime farmland and water resources for our thriving agri-food sector (the largest in Canada!) and food security.

Every new year provides an opportunity to craft resolutions, to make a difference in our own lives and the lives of others. At Food & Water First, we resolve to continue pressing for changes to Ontario’s land-use policies so that our best soils and water resources are preserved for all the new years and growing seasons to come.
