Land Over Landings continues to gain momentum in its campaign to protect 13,000-acres of Class 1 farmland from being paved over for a proposed Pickering airport and other development. The group, a Food & Water First Partner, is led by the passionate and determined Mary Delaney who has been living on the north Pickering federal lands since 1980. The vast swath of rare soil was expropriated by Ottawa in 1972 for an airport, and has been at the centre of a fierce community fight ever since.
