With just two days left before Celebrate Food & Water First, we’re in the headlines once again! The Creemore Echo has published a great story about Sunday’s event in Honeywood.

We’ve also learned that Bill Lishman has added something special to his ultralight for his trip to Honeywood! All we can say is bring a camera and keep your eyes peeled as Food & Water First soars to new heights!

TERRA NOVA PUBLIC HOUSE

Celebrate Food & Water First with Anna and her brother, chef Malcolm Muth, of the Terra Nova Public House! They’ll be serving Crombie Station Farms Lamb Liver pate over Fiddle Foot Farms Spicy Greens with Blue Springs Apiaries Honey Vinaigrette. Now, that’s a delicious local mouthful!

“When you live in a place like this, it’s hard not to be an environmentalist,” says Anna, looking out the window at the nearby Niagara escarpment. “People want to know where their food comes from, and whether it has traveled 10,000 miles to get to them.”

Over the past 20 years, Malcolm has worked in several restaurants, including Oliver & Bonacini, Mono Cliffs Inn and Hiding in Hockley. He now whips up great meals in the Public House, which is nestled in the lovely hamlet of Terra Nova.

“You realize after living here for a while that you’re not in the middle of nowhere,” says Anna. “You are in one of the most beautiful and productive areas in the country.”

FOOD & WATER FIRST….AND ART!

Outside the Honeywood arena you can board a tractor-drawn wagon for a lovely ride down a country lane and to a stunning view. On the ridge will be members of Artists Against the MegaQuarry — painters and photographers — capturing the beauty of the landscape. One of them will be Peter Adams, a well-know artist from Creemore.

MONO CLIFFS INN

One of the coolest and yummiest places to eat in the Hills of Headwaters is the Mono Cliffs Inn and we’re thrilled they’re part of Celebrate Food & Water First! The Inn started out as a farm in the 1800s and became a general store in 1853. Carol and Michael Hall bought it in 1984 and converted it into the popular restaurant it is today! The Mono Cliffs Inn will be serving Venison sandwiches on Sunday.
